
Learn the basics of improvised theatre with improv pro, Mike hammond! this level 1 class series will teach you the building blocks of the form likes storytelling,thinking on your feet, and saying "Yes!" improv is also a great way to learn public speaking skills, build confidence, and to stretch those creative muscles while working as a team!
Classes run Mondays from March 4 - April 15 (No class on April 1) in the 4th floor lecture room at the Arts & culture centre. Registration is $150.00 and will be open until the first day of classes.

Who is Mike and what has he done?
Mike Hammond is an improviser and comedian based out of St. John's Newfoundland. He's trained all over North America including io in chicago and the next act festival in Montreal. Mike has performed at the bad dog theatre in Toronto, was a cast member at the 2017 winnipeg improv festival, is the artistic director for Stanley Braxton Improv Co., and the producer of the braxton comedy festival, Mike is also the former Regional director, head judge, and trainer for the Canadian Improv Games: NL Region, a former national trainer and judge for the national tournament of the C.I.G., and has taught improv for the english school district of NL and Google.
I am turning 15 or 19 this year. Can I still do the class?
If you're turning 15 this year, you can still take the Ages 15-18 class. If you're turning 19 you can take the 19+ class.
I can't pay online. can I pay in person or by e-transfer?

Do I have to attend every class?
Although attendance isn't mandatory, we will be building on lessons from week to week, so it's a good idea to try to attend. Also, if you know you can't make it one week, that's fine just let mike know. the registration is still $150.00 even if you know you'll be away for a class.
Should I bring anything to class?
a notebook, pen, and water bottle might come in handy.
