About Mike
Based out of Newfoundland & Labrador, Mike Hammond is a comedian, writer, improviser, actor, and producer. He's a captivating storyteller and a high energy goofball that keeps you laughing with tales ripped from his everyday life.
In 2022 Mike wrote and performed his one-person show, "Big Dumb Circus Bear," about the artistic merits of comedy and humor's relationship with mental illness. He also launched his first podcast in 2025 called, reTales, about the horrible true stories from working in customer service.
As a comedian, Mike has played all over Canada. He's recorded for Just for Laughs Originals, released his debut album "Person of Weight" in 2025, and was the founder and director of the Braxton Comedy Festival (2017-2019). As an improviser, he was a cast member for the 2018 Winnipeg Improv Festival and was a founding member of Stanley Braxton Improv Co. (2010-2019). Mike has taught improv across the country and delivered workshops for The Child and Youth Care World Conference, English School District of Newfoundland, Memorial University, and Google.
